By far these have been the most frustrating confection to get just right.  I am originally from Ohio where we are closer to sea level and have a lot of humidity.  Baking at high altitude and low humidity plays havoc with a Macaron shell.  After finally getting it right we were out celebrating at Whispering Vine and talking to Michael behind the bar.  Michael has an amazing palate and gave me some great ideas to make my Macarons 'boozy'.  Corn Whisky might sound strange, but Whisky and/or Brandy are classic additions in many desserts.  They are delicious!
